2022 'The Assemblage’ GSM

Good winter rain allowed soil profiles to be full, giving the vines a great start to the growing season. A remarkably cool summer followed, providing perfect conditions for healthy balanced vines. The long ripening period produced fruit with a perfect balance of good colour, high natural acidity and concentrated flavours. 100% Estate grown, “The Assemblage” is our Northern Rhone inspired blend. Grenache brings the aromatic bright fruits and palate structure, Shiraz provides plush mid palate and blue fruits, and Mourvedre provides dark fruits and spice.

Wild yeast ferment, small open fermenters, gentle cap management. Maturation: 8 months in seasoned French barrique

Fresh and lively early on, the palate with the same bright red fruits before rolling into Satsuma plum and blueberries with a touch of choc-coated liquorice. Soft tannins and herbal spice on the back palate provide a seamless integration throughout for a beautifully balanced glass of wine.

Arriving like a classic Black Forest cake, with sweet cherry and raspberry coulis garnished with some dark chocolate. The red-fruited aromas leap out of the glass before some riper, darker fruit characters reveal themselves.
