2022 'Los Companeros' Shiraz Tempranillo

Good winter rain allowed soil profiles to be full, giving the vines a great start to the growing season. A remarkably cool summer followed, providing perfect conditions for healthy balanced vines. The long ripening period produced fruit with a perfect balance of good colour, high natural acidity, and concentrated flavours. A blend that is quite unique to Pikes, Shiraz and Tempranillo make perfect blending companions with Shiraz providing fruit sweetness and Tempranillo bringing savoury elements to the wine.

12 months in seasoned French Oak.

Soft and ripe, imminently (and always) enjoyable. The promise of blue and red berries is kept, with tannis beautifully interwoven throughout. A seamless flow along the palate, finishing with balance and length. A crowd pleaser and winner of many friends.

Lovely ripe red fruits, accompanied by cola and licorice. With time it opens in the glass, showing sweet spices and violets.
