Named after family matriarch, ‘The Merle’ is selected from the best parcels of Riesling from our Polish Hill River Estate, this release is sourced from 3 blocks. We are aiming for the purest expression of Polish Hill Riesling for this wine.
This five year old museum release is still a very young expression of 'The Merle' and is developing more slowly than Traditionale from the same vintage. It is showing the first signs of bottle development through increasing concentration and lime-marmalade complexity, while retaining the freshness and structure of a young wine. Allow time in the glass if drinking now, or cellar confidently for a further decade or more.
