2025 'The Plantation' Grenache

The Clare Valley endured one of its most challenging vintages, with the second driest year on record. A wet July was followed by a dry, warm spring and summer. On 17 September, frost hit our Polish Hill vineyard just after budburst. Fortunately, the early timing of the frost allowed our vines to respond with healthy shoot growth and a smaller canopy. Lower yields and careful irrigation led to full ripeness. Fruit showed excellent concentration, with red varieties displaying deep colour and intensity.

Bright red fruits leap from the glass, with fresh raspberries and strawberries leading the way. Delicate crushed violets provide floral lift, while hints of red lolly confectionery add a playful sweetness. Fragrant, youthful and inviting.

Juicy red fruits dominate, with raspberries and strawberries carrying through from the nose. A touch of spice and gentle grip from the grape skins add texture, while minimal oak influence allows the purity of fruit to shine. Light on its feet yet generous in flavour, with refreshing acidity and fine tannins providing lovely balance.
